Performance of KnowledgeBox over an internet connection

For best performance use a broadband internet connection

KnowledgeBox may be slow and have reduced performance if you are not connected to the online trial via a high speed broadband connection.

You need to have the following plug-ins:

Flash (at least version 7) available free from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/

Java Runtime Environment ( J2RE - at least version 1.5) available from

http://www.java.com/

Pop-up blockers

Some users may have problems with pop-up blockers stopping KnowledgeBox from working properly on their home computer. Control and double right click will enable videos and animations to run in most cases. Click here for an article on how to resolve this.

Speed

The speed of response for searches and loading resources will vary with the speed of the home internet connection and the load on the KnowledgeBox server from other users on the system. Do not worry if something appears slow when accessed from home as the school KnowledgeBox should be much faster when the lesson is delivered as the school KnowledgeBox is a dedicated machine for each school and is accessed from the high speed local network in the school.
